The Opportunity

We're looking for a Finance Transformation Specialist to join our dynamic team and play a key role in reimagining how Finance operates across Mukuru.

This is not your traditional finance role — it's a cross-functional transformation position where you'll design and deliver process improvements, system automations, and innovative finance solutions that support our growth and scalability.

What You'll Do
1. Lead Finance Tech Solutions
  • Collaborate with the Tech and BI teams to design efficient, automated finance processes.

  • Develop and enhance tools for:

    • Remittances automated reconciliations

    • Wallet ledger functionality

    • New product launches and financial workflows

    • Transactional ledger enhancements in partnership with the Mukuru Tech team.

2. Drive Finance Projects & Innovation
  • Design and implement finance solutions for new products, services, and markets.

  • Work cross-functionally with teams across Mukuru to align finance processes with business growth.

3. Strengthen Processes & Controls
  • Lead the Finance Process and Controls Documentation Project, ensuring policies are clear, efficient, and audit-ready.

  • Champion best practices in financial control and risk management.

4. Systems & Automation Ownership
  • Manage and enhance NetSuite and other integrated financial systems.

  • Identify and implement automation opportunities (including Robotic Process Automation (RPA)).

  • Support the digital transformation of finance operations to improve efficiency and accuracy.

5. Strategic Finance Transformation Roadmap
  • Contribute to the design and execution of the Finance Transformation Roadmap.

  • Support key finance initiatives and ad-hoc process improvement workstreams.

What You'll Bring

Essential:

  • CA(SA) or equivalent qualification.

  • Minimum 2+ years post-articles experience from a Big 4 or another leading audit firm.

  • Strong understanding of multi-entity, multi-currency structures.

  • Experience in highly regulated or listed environments.

  • Proven experience improving financial controls and process efficiency.

  • Excellent project management, time management, and organisational skills.

  • Advanced skills in Excel and MS Office.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with NetSuite or other ERP systems.

  • Exposure to Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools.

  • Experience in both blue-chip and entrepreneurial environments.

  • A solid understanding of technical accounting principles and data-driven decision-making.
