Yanacocha Water Treatment Plant (WTP):

Located 800 km northeast of Lima, Peru, Yanacocha is South America's largest gold mine. The WTP Project consists of two of the largest acid water treatment plants in South America (the West one with capacity of 3,000 m3/hour and the East one with 2,700 m3/hour). Early works are currently being performed on site, preparing the permanent platforms and laydown areas for the East and West plants, in addition to the Class 2 estimate, Level 3 schedule and Execution Plan.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will work with the project team to prepare schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations. You will apply established unit job hour and pricing data, perform schedule integrations, prepare work logic, identify restraints and potential impacts, develop recovery plans, and evaluate subcontractor schedules for improvements. You will be instrumental in ensuring projects stay on track and on time.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Preparing schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations.
  • Establishing and maintaining the schedule for a specific discipline area or specialty.
  • Performing schedule development duties to include establishing the work breakdown structure (WBS), determining the work activity duration, establishing the proper workflow logic ties, and developing the required job expenditure.
  • Performing schedule monitoring, including identifying critical activities and updating functions for specific applications, disciplines, or specialties.
  • Developing critical path schedule reports and schedule performance metrics.
  • Determining critical-path activities for assigned discipline or specialty work activities supporting interdisciplinary requirements.
  • Identifying and reporting activities that have a critical or potential impact on the schedule.
  • Monitoring and validating subcontractor schedules.
  • Evaluating subcontractor schedules for required workarounds or potential schedule improvements.
Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Experienced professional with a thorough understanding of the area of specialization, solving a wide range of problems creatively and effectively.
  • Considered highly skilled and competent in discipline.
  • Professional level position within the field.
  • Work on problems of various kinds where data analysis requires an evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Demonstrate good judgment in the selection of methods and techniques to obtain solutions.
  • Minimal supervision with latitude for trial and may assist less experienced team members.
