Unique opportunity for a
Senior Platform Engineer
in
South Africa
to build and enhance developer tooling, deployment processes and pipelines in order to ensure our elite payment orchestration platform can scale fast while strengthening reliability and security.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with engineering to improve development and deployment processes
  • Secure, monitor, and maintain multiple Kubernetes environments
  • Helping evaluate, deploy, automate, and operate new technologies and infrastructure
  • Assisting with the evaluation and rollout of new services
  • Work with engineers within the team to ensure that releases are production grade
  • Performance Optimisation: Identify performance bottlenecks and work with the engineering team to optimise application and infrastructure performance.
  • Incident Response and Resolution: Collaborate with the incident response team to ensure swift and effective resolution of incidents, contributing to post-mortem analysis and driving improvements to prevent future incidents.
  • Capacity Planning: Monitor resource utilisation in Kubernetes clusters, perform capacity planning, and make recommendations for scaling infrastructure to meet growing demands.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics and/or similar work experience having worked on large-scale systems
  • Experience with operating a service-oriented architecture and/or container orchestration (Kubernetes or similar)
  • 8+ years experience in devops, SRE or related positions
  • Demonstrated project development and leadership skills
