A well known company is looking for a CNC Lathe and Milling Machine Operator

Responsibilities

  • Machine operation: Programming CNC lathes and milling machines to produce parts according to technical drawings and specifications.
  • Monitoring: Continuously monitor machine operations, making adjustments to speed and settings to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Quality control: Inspect finished products using precision measuring tools (like Vernier Calipers and micrometers) to ensure they meet required quality standards and specifications.
  • Setup and maintenance: Perform routine preventative maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting on the machines.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate production records and logs.
  • Collaboration: Work with engineers, senior operators, and quality control teams to optimize processes and improve efficiency.
  • Training: Training other employees on set up and operating CNC Lathe and milling machine

Skills and qualifications

  • Proficiency in operating both lathe and milling machines (manual and CNC).
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of materials, fits, and tolerances.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools such as vernier calipers and micrometers
  • Soft skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and precision.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Education and experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Formal training in machining or a related field is preferred.
  • 3-5 years prior experience working with machine shop tools and equipment is essential.
