Mechanical Engineer
with experience in
bulk materials handling
projects to join our Cape Town team.

What you will do:

  • Lead medium-scale projects in the field of bulk materials handling.
  • Conceptual layout of bulk materials handling terminals and facilities.
  • Design mechanical systems for the loading and unloading of bulk materials at maritime terminals.
  • Develop calculation reports, technical specifications, and other engineering documentation.
  • Coordinate and supervise mechanical design work in both drawings and the BIM environment.
  • Provide technical support and review discipline-specific drawings and documents.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of assigned tasks.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and work with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Participate in technical and coordination meetings with PRDW global internal team and clients.
  • Conduct site visits as required by projects or clients.

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of total professional experience. ECSA PrEng Registration is preferred but not mandatory.
  • At least 3 years of experience in bulk materials handling projects.
  • Proficiency in mechanical design software, conveyor belt calculations, and DEM (Discrete Element Method) simulation tools.
