IT Support Technician

The IT Support Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving all IT issues - whether hardware or software-related - and providing feedback within the agreed upon times to the IT Manager, as well as both internal and external stakeholders alike.
Primary duties and responsibilities (but not limited to)
- Troubleshoot and resolve desktop support issues
- Install and configure software, hardware as well as PCs and laptops
- Maintenance: Ensure systems are backed up
- Document all tasks and duties
- Remote management and support
- Manage Stakeholder relationships i.e. Suppliers and ISP's
- Provide first line support with Frequently Asked Questions
- Maintain website, updating product details and Industry news.
- Develop and maintain the management Reporting application
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent qualification essential
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience in a similar role
- Good understanding of MS Server software and management thereof.
- Excellent understanding of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Understanding of Server software, it's implementation and maintenance
- Knowledge of Active Directory on MS Server
- Creating of Users/Roles in a Domain environment
- Understanding of TCP/IP
- Strong Problem solving & Analytical skills
- Technical understanding of IT infrastructures
- Good knowledge of PC's/Printers and fault finding
- Communication skills (Verbal and Written)
Advantageous Skills
- IT related degree/diploma.
- Web Development platforms/languages
- You will be expected to have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), time management skills, self-management skills, be proficient in English, be enthusiastic, committed and dynamic and be able to work within a team environment (but also excel with minimal supervision).
- Remain flexible, function under pressure and maintain a positive attitude and work performance in a variety of circumstances
- Take responsibility for staying up to date with the latest trends and developments
- Follow Best Practices
- A high level of attention to detail
- Be willing and keen to share information
- Have a strong sense of integrity
- Be able to learn and apply new development tools quickly and efficiently
- Be able to accept constructive criticism
