An exciting opportunity for a
Back-end Developer
within
deVere Group
has arisen to join our dynamic IT department. We are seeking skilled and motivated developers with hands-on experience in building and maintaining high-quality, efficient, and secure back-end systems.

As part of our software development team, you will work on designing, developing, and optimising web applications and services using the latest Microsoft technologies. You will collaborate closely with other developers, technical leads, and stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable solutions that support business growth.

The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in
C# and .NET development
, a keen eye for detail, and a drive to continuously learn and improve within a collaborative environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the development team, technical leads, and Head of Software Development.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimise
    server-side applications and APIs
    using
    C# (.NET / .NET Core)
    frameworks.
  • Ensure reliable integration between front-end interfaces and back-end services through well-structured
    RESTful APIs
    .
  • Design and maintain
    database schemas
    , queries, and stored procedures (MS SQL) to ensure data integrity and performance.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve performance bottlenecks, bugs, and system issues in production and staging environments.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving
    code quality, scalability, and security
    across the back-end stack.
  • Support and maintain existing platforms by refactoring legacy code and implementing modern development best practices.
  • Plan and deliver
    back-end components and microservices
    that support enterprise-level software solutions used across the business.

Required Skills

  • Proven professional experience developing and maintaining
    scalable back-end solutions
    using modern
    .NET frameworks
    (.NET 6+, .NET Core, and .NET Framework 4.6–4.8).
  • Strong programming expertise in
    C#
    , including
    ASP.NET Core
    ,
    MVC architecture
    , and
    Entity Framework / Entity Framework Core
    .
  • Proficiency in
    Visual Studio 2022/2026
    and modern development workflows (Git, CI/CD pipelines, debugging, unit testing).
  • Hands-on experience with
    SQL Management Studio
    ,
    T-SQL
    , database design, optimisation, and query performance tuning.
  • Solid understanding of
    RESTful API design
    ,
    Web Services
    , and integration patterns for service-oriented architectures.
  • Familiarity with
    SOLID principles
    ,
    clean architecture
    , and
    design patterns
    for maintainable and testable codebases.
  • Working knowledge of
    Azure services
    (App Services, SQL Database, Functions, Storage, DevOps pipelines) is highly desirable.
  • Experience with
    JavaScript
    ,
    jQuery
    ,
    ADO.NET
    , or
    legacy ASP.NET
    is
    not mandatory
    , but
    candidates with exposure to these technologies will be given preference
    .
  • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively in an
    agile, fast-paced environment
    .

Required Education and Experience

  • University Degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2–5 years' professional experience in back-end software development within a commercial environment.
