Role

The role of an QA Engineer with expertise in Katalon involves a crucial aspect of quality assurance in software development. This role primarily focuses on testing software applications' API (Application Programming Interfaces) using Katalon Platform, a leading All-in-one, No-Code/Low-Code, AI Augmented QA Platform. Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Software Developers and Business Analysts to understand project requirements and API specifications.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts in Katalon Studio.
  • Perform API testing to validate functionality and data integrity.
  • Identify, Report, and Track Defects on Katalon, and work closely with developers for resolution.
  • Identify, request and maintain test data for API testing in a necessary test environment.
  • Continuously improve and update test suites to adapt to changing requirements and project needs.
  • Participate in test automation framework development and enhancement efforts.
  • Monitor and analyze test results, investigate failures, and provide clear and actionable feedback.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality software.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging trends in API testing and automation.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in Software testing.
  • Understanding of API concepts, SOAP, RESTful APIs, HTTP protocols, and JSON.
  • Willing to dedicate time to learn & get certified in Katalon.
  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Knowledge of test management tools and agile development methodologies is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
  • Relevant certifications in software or API testing (e.g., ISTQB/Katalon) is a plus.
Qualification & Certifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, National Diploma or any related field.
