Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Head Chef located in the City of Cape Town. The Head Chef will lead the kitchen team at a 5-star hotel, overseeing all culinary operations. Responsibilities include menu planning, food preparation, staff management, maintaining exceptional food quality, and ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards. The Head Chef will collaborate with other departments to deliver a world-class dining experience for guests, focusing on innovation and excellence.

Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in Culinary Arts, menu planning, and innovative recipe development.
  • Experience in leading, mentoring, and managing diverse kitchen teams.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and quality standards in high-end dining environments.
  • Well-versed in inventory management and supplier coordination to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Mandatory: Formal culinary training or a relevant degree from a recognized institution.
  • Preferred: Previous experience in fine dining kitchen management or within a luxury hotel environment.
  • Ability to stay innovative and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
