Role Description

We are seeking an ambitious Junior Functional ERP Consultant to join our growing KZN team. We prioritize business aptitude, client-facing potential, and problem-solving skills over existing Sage X3 experience. If you understand core business processes (Finance, SCM, or Manufacturing) and are looking for a definitive path to becoming a Senior ERP Consultant and ultimately a team leader, we want to hear from you.

This is a full-time on-site role for a Junior Functional ERP Consultant with a focus on Sage X3, based in Durban. The consultant will be responsible for participating in ERP implementations, analyzing business processes, and configuring Sage X3 solutions to meet client requirements. Key tasks include engaging with clients to understand their specific needs, providing technical expertise, troubleshooting system issues, and delivering training and ongoing support to users to maximize system efficiency. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, as well as supporting the testing and deployment of ERP solutions, are essential aspects of the role.

Initial Focus (Training & Junior Phase):

• Sage X3 Certification: Formal, dedicated time for completing core X3 functional training and certification (Finance, Distribution).
• Project Support: Work alongside senior consultants to assist with data migration, system configuration, documentation, and rigorous testing for new projects.
• Support & Shadowing: Provide supervised Tier 1/2 functional support and shadow senior consultants during client workshops and relationship management meetings.

Career Progression: Successful candidates will progress to a Senior Consultant/Project lead role, leading implementation projects and owning long-term customer relationships.

Required Skills & Experience (Aptitude over Tool Knowledge)

We will assess candidates based on the following non-negotiable criteria:

1. Foundational Business & Process Knowledge (MANDATORY):

2. Minimum 2-4 years experience in a role demanding practical knowledge of core business processes (e.g., Accounting, Inventory Management, Production Planning, or Business Analysis).

3. OR A high-achieving BCom (Accounting/IS) or BSc (Information Systems/IE) graduate with relevant internship experience.

4. Proven exposure to any mid-market ERP or accounting system is highly beneficial.

5. Core Consulting Aptitude & Interpersonal Skills (MANDATORY):

6. Exceptional Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and manage expectations—critical for future client relationship management.
