Key Responsibilities

Core Network Support & Troubleshooting:

• Respond to and resolve network-related incidents within SLA timelines.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues across Cisco, Arista, Fortinet, and MikroTik environments.

• Maintain network uptime, stability, and performance.

• Manage and troubleshoot Radius authentication processes.

Network Design & Implementation:

• Design and deploy ISP core and client network solutions.

• Optimize routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS).

• Support SD-WAN deployments, security configurations, and failover plans.

Infrastructure Maintenance:

• Ensure high availability of core and wireless infrastructure.

• Perform upgrades, patch management, and lifecycle maintenance on hardware and software.

• Monitor performance using PRTG, LibreNMS, Zabbix, and Site24x7.

Collaboration & Leadership:

• Take ownership of tickets and network projects from start to completion.

• Collaborate with the NOC, management, and support teams to ensure smooth operations.

• Share knowledge and provide mentorship to junior team members.

• Prepare monthly service-level performance reports.

Job Requirements

• National Senior Certificate (Matric) or equivalent qualification.

• 3–5 years' experience in a network or systems engineering environment (preferably 5 years).
  

• Cisco CCNA and CCNP certifications are highly advantageous (formal qualifications not required but beneficial).

• Fortinet and MikroTik certifications (MTCNA, MTCRE) are beneficial.

• Valid driver's license and own reliable transport.

• Fluent in Afrikaans and English (read, write, and speak).

• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Hoofverantwoordelikhede

Kernnetwerkondersteuning en Probleemopsporing:

• Reageer en los netwerkverwante voorvalle (tickets) binne diensvlakooreenkomste (SLA).

• Diagnoseer en herstel probleme in Cisco, Arista, Fortinet en MikroTik omgewings.

• Handhaaf netwerkstabiliteit en stelselprestasie oor kerninfrastruktuur.

• Hanteer Radius-verifikasie en probleemopsporing.

Netwerkontwerp & Implementering:

• Ontwerp en implementeer oplossings vir ISP-kernnetwerke en kliëntnetwerke.

• Optimaliseer routeringsprotokolle (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS).

• Ondersteun SD-WAN-ontplooiings, sekuriteitskonfigurasies en oorskakelingsplanne.

Infrastruktuuronderhoud:

• Verseker hoë beskikbaarheid van kern- en draadlose infrastruktuur.

• Voer opgraderings, patch management en lewensiklusonderhoud van hardeware en sagteware uit.

• Monitor netwerkprestasie deur PRTG, LibreNMS, Zabbix en Site24x7.

Samewerking & Leierskap:

• Neem eienaarskap van projekte en netwerkvoorvalle.

• Werk saam met die NOC-span, bestuur en ondersteuningspanne vir gladde bedrywighede.

• Deel kennis en mentorskap met kollegas.

• Stel maandelikse verslae oor diensvlakprestasie op.

Vereistes

• Graad 12 of ekwivalente kwalifikasie.

• 3–5 jaar ondervinding in 'n netwerk- of stelselingenieursomgewing.
  

• Cisco CCNA en CCNP sertifisering is 'n groot voordeel (formele kwalifikasies nie verpligtend nie).

• Fortinet en MikroTik sertifisering (MTCNA, MTCRE) is voordelig.

• Geldige bestuurslisensie en eie vervoer.

• Vlot in Afrikaans en Engels (lees, skryf en praat).

• Sterk probleemoplossings- en kommunikasievaardighede.

• Vermoë om onafhanklik en as deel van 'n span te werk.
