Advertising Coordinator

Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Midrand has an opportunity available for a Advertising Coordinator join the team. The main purpose of this role will be to effectively executive Dis-Chem promotional activities. The role will also be required to liaise with Buyers and Suppliers to ensure all promotional deadlines are adhered to.

Minimum Requirements…

Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• 1 – 2 years relevant working experience in the Retail Industry

Advantageous:

• Diploma or Degree in Marketing
• Agency experience in retail

Job Specification…

• Manage the creation of a promotional broadsheet from start to finish.
• Adhering to the promotional plan and deadlines as well as the process as set out by the Advertising Team Lead.
• Be responsible for proof reading and checking of all campaigns allocated to you.
• Ensure catalogue is signed off by all stakeholders and internal managers and category heads within the business.
• Co-ordinate changes to the agency with internal stakeholders and vendors as well as ensure queries from agency regarding the campaign are answered quickly and correctly.
• Ensure that deals are given on time to be loaded on the IT System.
• Assist the Advertising Team Leader with ad agencies to get all marketing material completed in time
• Creates and ensures sign off on the vendor billing documents for marketing for their promotion, including broadsheets, TV, Gondola, and all other promotional activities necessary.
• Compiles and ensures sign off on the tally document for their promotion.
• Assist with the layout and design of communications such as presentations, support materials, research papers, and brochures.
• Ensure that promotional plans are in line with the Dis-Chem standard operating procedures.
• Adhoc promotional marketing.
• Effectively communicate with suppliers regarding relevant marketing activities.
• Assist with communication between Dis-Chem and advertising agencies.
• Collaborate with agencies to create a creative look and feel elements for the point of sale and print deadlines to ensure POS is in store when the promotion breaks.
• Accurately perform duties using Dis-Chem`s internal systems SAP, BI, Qlikview.
• Complete a brief sheet for all promotions to be used for billing, tallies, advertising briefs, and PO`s.
• Ensure all promotional items are signed off both by the Group Marketing Communications Manager and the Marketing Director as well as the respective suppliers before print date.
• Follow process set by the Advertising Team Leader and direct line Managers.
• Administrate and ensure the implementation of the look and feel in the store aligns with the campaign.
• Ensure all tasks are done in accordance with the set deadlines.
• Conduct market research to determine ad campaign strategies.
• Keep abreast of the current market trends and developments.
• Report all queries and findings to the Advertising Team Lead
• Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies and Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations.
