Purpose of the Job:

  • Supervising staff and ensuring excellent customer service in front of house
  • Managing gym floor activities and ensuring equipment is safe and functional
  • Enforcing health, safety, and cleanliness standards
  • Handling member concerns and resolving issues
  • Coordinating schedules, maintenance, and facility logistics

Key Performance Areas include:

  1. Facility Operations & Maintenance

  2. Ensure equipment is functioning and safe

  3. Staff Supervision & Training

  4. Manage and motivate gym floor staff, cleaners, and trainers

  5. Conduct staff training and performance evaluations

  6. Ensure adherence to company policies and standards

  7. Customer Service & Member Experience

  8. Handle member inquiries, feedback, and complaints

  9. Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction

  10. Promote a welcoming and motivating atmosphere

  11. Health & Safety Compliance

  12. Enforce safety protocols and emergency procedures

  13. Ensure proper use of equipment and gym etiquette
  14. Conduct risk assessments and incident reporting
  15. Oversee cleanliness and hygiene of the gym

  16. Schedule and monitor routine maintenance and repairs

  17. Inventory & Supplies Management

  18. Track and manage inventory (cleaning supplies, towels, etc.)

  19. Place orders and control stock levels efficiently

  20. Reporting & Performance Monitoring

  21. Track key metrics: attendance, equipment usage, staff performance

  22. Provide reports to upper management
  23. Identify areas for operational improvement

Experience and Qualifications

Industry Experience

  • 2–5 years Management Back round
  • Hands-on experience with gym operations, customer service, and equipment management

Leadership & Team Management

  • Proven experience managing or supervising a team, ideally in a gym or hospitality setting
  • Ability to lead, train, and motivate staff across shifts
  • Experience in handling staffing schedules, performance reviews, and conflict resolution

Customer Service Background

  • Strong background in client-facing roles
  • Experience dealing with member concerns, resolving complaints, and maintaining a high standard of service

Health & Safety Knowledge

  • Understanding of gym safety protocols and first aid procedures
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and ensuring compliance with health regulations

Administrative & Operational Skills

  • Experience managing inventory, cleaning schedules, and maintenance logs
  • Comfortable using gym management software or booking systems

Bonus Qualifications (Preferred but not always required)

  • Certification in Fitness, Sports Management, or Business Administration
  • First Aid / CPR certified
  • Health & Safety or Facility Management training
