About the Role

HYPE – Youth is looking for a dynamic and experienced General Manager – Project Implementation to lead operations, manage large-scale projects, and support the CEO in driving organizational growth and measurable social impact.

This role is ideal for a results-driven professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys building systems, leading teams, and designing strategies that change lives through youth employment and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage operational activities in support of the CEO.
  • Oversee multiple contracts to ensure revenue growth, compliance, and positive client relationships.
  • Design and implement organizational growth strategies aligned with HYPE's mission.
  • Drive innovation, digitization, and process improvement across all projects.
  • Manage recruitment, coaching, and performance of project staff.
  • Strengthen monitoring, evaluation, and quality assurance systems.
  • Identify risks in project implementation and develop effective mitigation plans.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, funders, and partners.

Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant NQF Level 7 qualification in Education, Humanities, or Project Management.
  • Minimum 5 years' management experience in a similar role.
  • Advanced computer literacy and experience with digital project management tools.
  • Proven track record in project management, including large-scale or flagship budget projects.
  • Strong proposal writing, reporting, and presentation skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Exposure to enterprise development initiatives (advantageous).
  • Experience working with youth employment programs (e.g. Harambee, YES, Lulaway) will be an advantage.
