Role Description
VUUR is seeking an experienced Chef De Partie for a full-time on-site role in Stellenbosch. The Chef De Partie will assist with the preparation and execution of dishes cooked over an open flame, ensuring exceptional taste and presentation. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing a station in the kitchen, supervising junior staff, upholding food safety and hygiene standards, and working collaboratively with the team to maintain the high culinary standards of the restaurant. Creativity and passion for sustainable and fire-based cooking are essential.
Qualifications
- Proven culinary skills in food preparation, plating, and cooking over open flames
- Experience in managing a kitchen station, delegating tasks, and supervising junior team members
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring compliance at all times
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail in every aspect of food preparation
- Passion for sustainable cooking practices and respect for locally sourced, seasonal ingredients
- Formal culinary training or equivalent experience in a professional FINE DINING kitchen (minimum 4 years)
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment and adapt to the demands of an open-flame culinary philosophy
