Job Title: Bookkeeper (CIMA/SAIPA Accountant – Junior to Mid-Level)

Location: Brackengate, Cape Town (Hybrid: in-office and WFH)

Reports to: Finance Manager / Head of Finance

About the Role:

We're looking for a meticulous, motivated
Bookkeeper
who loves structure, accuracy, and a tidy set of books. You'll handle the day-to-day financial admin, reconciliations, and month-end processes that keep the business running smoothly.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone
working toward or recently completed their CIMA or SAIPA qualification
, who wants to grow in a collaborative, values-driven environment. You'll have support, mentorship, and exposure to the full finance function - without being buried in payroll duties.

Key Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping & Financial Administration:

  • Maintain accurate accounting records and general ledgers across multiple entities.
  • Process supplier invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Perform
    bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
    monthly.
  • Assist with month-end journals and trial balance preparation.
  • Capture, organise, and maintain supporting documentation for audits and management reports.

Support Finance & Payroll Functions:

  • Provide
    administrative and reporting support
    to the Finance Manager.
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations and reporting.
  • Help ensure compliance with SARS, VAT, and tax submissions.
  • Liaise with suppliers, staff, and service providers for financial documentation or queries.

General Office & Admin Support:

  • Manage filing systems and ensure proper document control.
  • Support finance-related correspondence, data entry, and record-keeping.
  • Contribute to process improvements and help streamline workflows.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • BCom in Accounting / Management Accounting
    (or equivalent).
  • Working toward or recently completed
    CIMA or SAIPA
    qualification.
  • 1–3 years' experience in
    bookkeeping or accounting support
    .
  • Proficient in
    Xero, CaseWare, or similar accounting systems
    .
  • Strong
    Excel / Google Sheets
    skills (recons, formulas, pivot tables, etc.).

  • Positive, approachable, and collaborative with the wider team.
  • Keen to learn and grow within a structured finance environment.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Exposure to
    e-commerce, retail, or inventory-based
    businesses (e.g. Cin7).
  • Experience with
    cloud-based finance tools
    like G-Accon or Dext.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems (SimplePay or similar) for reconciliation purposes.
