IA Solution Architect

Position Purpose

Accountable for formulating a business case that analyses the business needs and presents the plan of execution through means of recommended automated business processes, technology offerings, product offerings and the development and implementation plan, which is further defined and guided by the automation architectural framework. Leads a solution development team that comprises of assigned business user, business analyst/ business engineer and developer. The automation solution design is proven by the construction and validation of the following artefacts PBMD and Pre-PDD, test cycle governance and documentation. Research and evaluation of intelligent automation technology in order to meet the Digital Transformation strategy of the AHL Group. The aforementioned leadership further extends its role into the business capability level that drives automation initiatives at a capability level. Accountability for organizational change management relative to automation initiatives including the plan, impact analysis, training for new way of work. Influence and engagement with key stakeholders including leadership / capability alignment to digital strategy and presentation of business cases to Intelligent Automation Steercom (IAS). To plan, lead and co-ordinate.

-Provide ongoing system improvement support including but not limited to defining the scenarios, developing options for solutions, overseeing the development according to specification and testing

-Engage with the system on an ongoing basis and undertake live monitoring and testing to ensure maximum efficiency and performance of the system

-Engage with the business and provide ongoing evaluation and review of the required business process enhancements

Position Specific Outputs

Demand & Solution Management:

Identification of or receipt of AHL business requirements for automation initiatives aligned to capability prioritisation. Documentation of the As Is business process and creation of the automation solution / hypothesis.

Assessment of the automation opportunity in terms of the governance gate criteria within the IA RPA Development Lifecycle (RDLC)

and the compilation of the Preliminary Business Motivation Document (PBMD) by collaboration with key stakeholders in business.

This includes the scope and sponsorship of the automation initiative.

Compliance with the methodology utilised (Blue Prints) for Automation Opportunity Assessments, the Business Case Framework / Preliminary Business Motivation Document (PBMD) and the Programme Level Business Case for scaled automation projects which includes revised business operating models.

Development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for automation initiatives aligned to the return on investment (ROI) strategy and policies determined by the Intelligent Automation Steercom (IAS).

Creation of the Opportunity Assessment Backlog (automation pipeline) to enable planning, budgeting and capacity enablement for human and digital workers within the CoE.

Intelligent Automation Technology Solutions:

Perform research and conduct evaluation of intelligent automation technology in order to meet the Digital Transformation strategy of the AHL Group. The assessment of new and emerging technology (AI, ML, Attended Automation, Hyper-automation tools and integrated assessment and process platforms) must be aligned to business process, technology, information and application architectural framework and new customer models that enhance service excellence.

Conduct Proof of Concept or Proof of Value initiatives to evaluate suitability and stability within the technology architecture environment and develop business cases for submission to IAS. Collaborate with stakeholders, including but not limited to ACT, Capability Forums and IA in identifying use cases that will expedite Digital Transformation and STP strategic levers.

Quality Assessments:

Develop test strategy plans for evaluation of new technology and new automation implementations that align to proving

the automation objectives of new initiatives. In collaboration with the IA and business create test cases and develop test sign off documentation aligned to the automation development lifecycle requirements.

Aligned to the UAT testing strategy of AHL, investigate and develop automated testing solutions that facilitate stable and repetitive quality assessments for IA and the AHL Group.

Qualification and Experience

• 5 – 10 years medical aid or insurance industry experience
• At least 3 years of experience in an automation Business Analyst role and automation technology
• Management experience and / or appropriate qualification will be an advantage
• 5 years of SDLC including BusDevOps framework / UAT experience
• Relevant degree/diploma, ITIL Programmes, BA certification, Automation Tool Training, Project Management
