- Role Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Relationship Manager to join our Specialist Division in Sandton. The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing, growing, and optimising partner and UMA portfolios. This role requires a strong technical insurance and underwriting background, excellent relationship-building capability, and the ability to analyse and improve portfolio performance.

- Key Responsibilities
• Support and drive growth of existing partner portfolios, ensuring profitability and business retention.
•Foster strong relationships with partners and their staff.
•Analyze portfolio performance, implement corrective actions and drive improvement.
•Conduct process audits on allocated UMA's.
•Deliver monthly reports to Division Head on allocated UMA's and prepare quarterly reports for CEO.
•To assist the Division Head with UMA's when necessary.
Build and maintain relationships with current UMA's, taking overall responsibility to ensure growth of the account and overall profitability. This includes:
o Assisting is setting and achieving of individual partner budgets, attending monthly meetings and developing a solid business partnership.
o Assist partners with underwriting and claims queries, when claims staff are not available. There are a number of claims experts in the office area of the business that you can consult with in these circumstances.
o To ensure policies are written within underwriting limits and facultative reinsurance obtained if and when required, timeously.
o Interact internally with the claims portfolio manager and the finance portfolio manager to ensure reports are received are on time and accurate.
o Analyse and effectively communicate to the partner information to assist with underwriting and proactive management of non-profitable or declining portfolios.
o Analyse allocated UMA's monthly financials in order to pick up trends and proactively advise on potential problem areas and methods of resolution.
- Minimum Requirements
• Be FAIS compliant.
• Have a minimum of 10 years' Commercial product experience.
• Experience in any of the specialist insurance areas would be advantageous, such as Marine, Engineering, Aviation, Bloodstock, with expertise in underwriting.
• Be financially literate, able to interpret financial reports. The ability to manage debtors is a plus.
• Excel proficiency is a key requirement.
• Strong analytical, communication, and relationship management skills.
Preference will be given to South African citizens and candidates from designated groups, in line with the company's Employment Equity Plan.
