Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an In-House Counsel based in the City of Johannesburg. The In-House Counsel will be responsible for providing legal advice, drafting and reviewing contracts, and supporting the organization in commercial law matters. Additional duties include assisting with dispute resolution, conducting legal research, and offering counsel to internal stakeholders on a variety of legal and business matters. Collaboration with other departments to manage risk and maintain adherence to South African laws and regulations is also a core aspect of the role.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in South African commercial law, family law, and labour law
- Experience with contract drafting and negotiation
- Ability to advise on regulatory and legal frameworks
- Litigation skills
- Proficient in legal research and analysis
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- LLB degree and admission as an attorney in South Africa
- Experience in insolvency law is a plus
