Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Earthmoving Technician located in Cape Town. The Earthmoving Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy earthmoving equipment, diagnosing mechanical faults, and conducting regular servicing. Day-to-day tasks include troubleshooting issues, conducting inspections, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The technician will also monitor equipment performance and maintain accurate service records.

Qualifications

  • Red Seal Earthmoving Technician qualification.
  • Mechanical skills involving the maintenance and repair of heavy earthmoving equipment
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults and implement effective solutions
  • Experience with troubleshooting and conducting inspections
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures and compliance with safety regulations
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate service records
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Relevant certification or vocational training in heavy equipment maintenance is a plus
  • Minimum five year experience in a similar role within the construction or plant hire industry is advantageous
