Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead a team of Service Assurance Technicians to maintain and enforce quality standards aligned to Caterpillar repair specifications.
  • Achieve quality turnaround targets and performance objectives.
  • Resolve internal customer queries promptly and effectively.
  • Maintain effective control over cost centre expenses and Work in Progress (WIP).
  • Drive clear and consistent communication between the team and management.
  • Ensure all service work on Caterpillar components complies with OEM guidelines and quality standards.
  • Apply warranty policies and procedures, including decision-making and conducting service warranty investigations.
  • Ensure successful completion and achievement of internal service audit requirements.
  • Drive adherence to quality and process efficiency standards through effective performance management.
  • Build competency within the team through coaching, mentoring, and development.
  • Provide on-the-job supervision ensuring team safety and compliance.
  • Report on team KPIs, performance metrics, and operational prospects.
  • Drive QFR actions and ensure full end-to-end process closure.
  • Oversee quality gate management within technical processes.
  • Manage non-conformance issues across regions and internal operations.
  • Own and manage all relevant checklists to ensure proper execution and compliance.
  • Take full responsibility for 2.6.1 appointment obligations.
  • Oversee ICRF workshop operations in alignment with SHEQ requirements.
  • Ensure full compliance with CC/SOR requirements.

Key requirements include:

  • Grade 12
  • Trade Test in relevant discipline (e.g., Diesel Mechanic, Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic)
  • Minimum 6 years' post-apprenticeship Caterpillar General Mechanic experience.
  • At least 4 years' Caterpillar component rebuild experience with strong troubleshooting exposure.
  • Extensive knowledge of failure analysis and component reusability guidelines.
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving experience on Earthmoving Equipment components.
  • In-depth component-specific technical knowledge.
  • Familiarity with Dyno and hydraulic test bench operation and diagnostics.
