Job Title: Mining Cost Specialist
Location: Rosebank/Kathu
Job Type: 24 month contract, expected to work Full-Time hours
Job Duties:

  • Utilizing suitable software and output paths (i.e. OPMS-MinePlanner or MineMax), Haulnet, Haulsim, Xeras and Excel, formulate/produce the detailed Opex and Capex estimates for each project option.
  • To build Xeras and Excel detailed cost models for the Mining team (The role is not only project focused)
  • Build and format suitable output files within the Xeras and Excel software that can be used to update the financial. models.
  • Work closely with the mining and Engineering teams to determine the HME required to support the. specific mining schedules.
  • Design hauling solutions that optimise cycle times and turn-around times; as well as types of overland transportation solutions.
  • Ensure integration with current Engineering and Maintenance LCCs, RECO's, et al.
  • Write reports to describe the Cost modelling process and model outcomes

Required Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree (Industrial Engineer, Mining Engineer or Mechanical Engineer)
  • Certified Cost Eng

Experience:

  • 10 years experience in a similar role
  • Highly skilled in the use of Xeras and Excel and other HME-related Planning tools
  • Ability to compile detailed and complex Cost models with a large amount of input data from various sources
  • Skilled at report writing and compilation of presentations; incl. cost scenarios and NPV/CAPEX ratio
