Junior Buyer

Company Overview:

Join a dynamic and rapidly growing food & beverage distribution company based in the Western Cape, supplying premium products to restaurants, hotels, wine farms, industrial caterers, and the manufacturing sector. As we expand our portfolio into the liquor and beverage category, we're looking for an experienced Junior Buyer to incorporate into our procurement team.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end procurement in a food distribution industry.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and supply agreements with vendors and distributors.
• Analyse market trends and customer preferences to maintain a competitive, well-balanced product mix.
• Work closely with the sales and logistics teams to ensure accurate stock forecasting and availability.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and licensing requirements related to liquor procurement.
• Maintain and optimise supplier relationships to drive cost savings and quality assurance.
• Process and track orders using SYSPRO ERP system (highly advantageous).

Minimum Requirements:

• Degree/diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related field.
• Proven experience in liquor buying within an FMCG or wholesale environment (essential).
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other procurement tools.
• Experience working with SYSPRO ERP (advantageous).
• Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven, high-volume environment
