Role responsibilities
Lead and manage structural design packages for medium-scale industrial projects, from concept through to detailed design and construction support. Conduct detailed structural analysis and design for steel and concrete structures in compliance with relevant design codes and standards.Use and interpret relevant client and national standards to carry out designs. Prepare high-quality design documentation, reports, and specifications that clearly communicate engineering intent. Coordinate and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, civil, process etc.) to deliver integrated project solutions. Review and approve structural drawings, calculations and deliverables produced by junior engineers, drafters and modellers. Provide technical guidance, mentorship and oversight to junior team members to develop their professional growth. Contribute to project planning, cost estimation and proposal development for new opportunities. Engage proactively with clients, contractors and stakeholders to ensure technical integrity, constructability and delivery excellence. Promote safety, sustainability and innovation in all design activities, consistent with Zutari's values and engineering ethos.Minimum requirements
BSc or BEng in Civil/Structural Engineering from a recognised institution (postgraduate qualification advantageous).Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant structural engineering experience, ideally within industrial or heavy engineering environments.Professional registration.Proven experience in the analysis and design of industrial structures, including equipment-supporting structures, process plants and bulk materials handling infrastructure. Demonstrates proficiency in finite element analysis and dynamic analysis (modal, harmonic, time-history or vibration studies).Strong working knowledge of relevant design codes and standards (Australia/New Zealand, America, European, South African).Proficiency in common structural analysis and design software and good understanding of CAD/BIM workflows. Experience with coding and automation of processes and workflows to assist with daily tasks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly and confidently.Skills and characteristics
