QA Automation Engineer

StructureIt is a fast-growing fintech business, with offices in the UK, South Africa, Mauritius, Thailand and New Zealand. We build mission critical software and data solutions for both major multi-national financial institutions and smaller organisations.

What you'll do 

We are looking for a technically minded person to work on several major existing and Greenfields projects in the international financial services and data space. The role will require the candidate to work as a collective with the QA team ensuring high quality and standard is maintained.

• To undertake all system, test related activities in support of the business requirements for the provision of new and updated systems.
• To undertake functional and integration testing, and liaison with third-party suppliers to ensure appropriate test coverage.
• To undertake Quality Assurance checks during third-party supplier and internal developments to ensure that only 'fit-for-purpose' code is delivered into test environments owned by the test team.
• Drive test automation and improve processes to support test automation initiatives
• Design and build test automation frameworks and pipelines from scratch to improve the quality of the software we produce.
• Put systems in place that will enable our quality metrics, namely; test efficiency, test effectiveness, dev testing, client satisfaction, quick-to-market and quality software
• Eliminate Defects before the software is deployed to the Clients Environment.
• Marry the Technical Requirements and Business Requirements
• Understand system requirements and create Test Cases
  • Fully understand the application before any Testing Activities can start. Be Involved at the start of any Project effort.
  • Fully understand the specific feature under test
  • Product Testing vs Business Requirements Validation
  • Ensure that test scenarios and scripts(Both Manual and Automation) are prepared in a structured way, prioritised to reflect business or technical priorities and are approved by appropriate stakeholders. Scope is to cover test cycle contents and regression packs.
  • Create Automated test scripts
• Monitor Automation and Manual test execution and review results.
• Identify, log and track Defects
• Monitor current sprint queues
• Regression Testing
  • Execute Regression tests to ensure that defect fixes have not broken existing
• Replicate any issues picked up on the Production Environment on the QA environment.
• User Training where required
• To co-ordinate re-testing of defects and issues either through 'at desk' re-tests by business test representatives, or via walkthroughs with third-party providers.
• To prepare and maintain relevant test documentation, including test scripts, narrative and written reports, and visual progress charts.
• To liaise with and assist each line of business regarding the test planning, testing activity, and test results analysis.
• To take responsibility for: time management; reporting and monitoring; risk management; issue management; quality assurance and change management.
  • Sign off builds before they are deployed to DB.
• Usability Testing
  • Suggest User Experience(UX) and User Interface Improvements
• To support other test team members and associated IT and Business resources as appropriate to the implementation of testing related activities.
• QA Effort Estimation
• To carry out other tasks as agreed with the QA Team Leader
  
  

Requirements

• The ideal candidate has 5+ years' experience as a QA Analyst or similar role working within the software industry, preferably within the financial services space.
• Knowledge, implementation and maintenance of automation tests.
• The candidate must also have 3+ years Automation Testing Experience.
• The role will require a strong blend of technical acumen, analysis, testing & quality assurance to ensure the successful and accurate handover of a finished product from QA team to the Product Manager, and managing the support cycle at deployment thereafter as required.
  
• Proficient with Web and Mobile Test Automation Tools i.e Katalon, Selenium, Appium or equivalent
• Analyse and Investigate Test Automation Tools suitable for the applications under Test
• Achieving Results – Be aware of key business objectives and ensure these are applied appropriately to all business activities.
• Commercial and Business Awareness – Able to identify business opportunities and be aware of the associated risks.
• Communication – Good communication skills suitable for the liaison with departmental staff and senior management. Demonstrate good communication, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, clients and customers including producing reports, preparing, organising and delivering presentations using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Teamwork – Able to contribute effectively towards the objectives of a team, and be able to share knowledge, ideas and information. Aware of the needs, objectives and constraints of those in other disciplines and functions.
• Problem Solving and Decision Making – Able to solve problems in a measured and creative way. Capable of independently assessing a wide variety of tasks and be proactive in relation to identifying and undertaking activities that are to the benefit of the business.
