We are searching for a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and financial regulations. This role requires precision, integrity, and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Recordkeeping and Reporting
- Maintain and update accurate financial records, ledgers, and accounts for the business and/or multiple entities.
- Reconcile bank accounts, general ledger, and credit card statements monthly.
- Process and record all Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions.
- Submit age analysis with commentary for audit files
- Prepare client invoices,
- Record payroll journals and assist with month-end closing activities.
- Generate management reports including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements in Sage One
- Manage and maintain the asset register
- Physical asset counting and checking
Compliance and Process Management
- Ensure adherence to company financial policies and accounting procedures.
- Assist with VAT / Sales Tax submissions and compliance reporting.
- Identify discrepancies, inefficiencies, or process gaps and recommend improvements.
- Liaise with clients, auditors, and senior accountants to resolve queries and ensure accurate reporting.
Administrative and Client Support
- Manage daily bookkeeping functions for multiple entities or clients.
- Maintain organized filing systems (digital and physical) for audit readiness.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with stakeholders, clients, and management.
Minimum Requirements:
- B. Comm Accounting/Finance
- 2+ years bookkeeping experience, ideally in a multi-client or service-based environment
- Proficiency in Sage One — certification advantageous
- Advanced Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets skills for reporting and analysis
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation processes
- Excellent communication and client interaction skills
- Previous experience in the recruitment industry advantageous
- Proven ability to streamline bookkeeping processes and improve reporting accuracy advantageous
