Construction OHS Officer – Head Office

Location: Head Office (Durban)
Reporting to: OHS Manager

About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Construction OHS Officer to join our OHS team at Head Office. This pivotal role ensures that all Boxer construction and development projects comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations, internal policies, and best practices. The position focuses on contractor management, risk identification and evaluation, and fostering strong external and internal stakeholder relationships.



Minimum Requirements

Requirements

  • Education: National Certificate in Construction Safety (National Diploma or 3-year Degree in Safety/Occupational Health and Safety advantageous).
  • Experience: Up to 3 years in construction, preferably with exposure to OHS and contractor management.
  • Professional Registration: SACPCMP (The South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OHS Act, Construction Regulations, and relevant standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building, problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Attention to detail, conceptual thinking and ability to work independently within broad guidelines.
  • Proficiency in relevant systems, processes and reporting tools (Aspirata-OHS System advantageous).
