**Safety Officer - Rigging Industry**

Are you a dedicated and detail-oriented **Safety Officer** with experience in high-risk industries such as rigging, heavy machinery, Engineering and construction. We are looking for a proactive professional to join our team and ensure compliance with safety regulations, reduce risks, and promote a strong safety culture within our operations.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop, implement, and enforce company **health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies**.
- Conduct **regular risk assessments** and safety audits on-site to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
- Ensure all work activities adhere to **Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations** and industry best practices.
- Lead **incident investigations**, compile reports, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Oversee **PPE compliance**, ensure proper equipment usage, and train employees on safety standards.
- Conduct and document **safety toolbox talks**, site inductions, and ongoing training sessions for employees and contractors.
- Collaborate with project managers and supervisors to integrate safety into daily operations.
- Maintain accurate **safety records, reports, and documentation** in accordance with industry and legal requirements.
- Work closely with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and clients to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Promote a culture of **continuous safety improvement** by staying updated on new regulations and industry developments.

**Requirements**:

- **Minimum of 3-5 years** of experience as a **Safety Officer** in rigging, heavy lifting, or a related high-risk industry.
- **SAMTRAC, NEBOSH, or equivalent safety qualification** is essential.
- **Knowledge of rigging and lifting operations** and associated risks is highly beneficial.
- Strong understanding of **risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety compliance**.
- Experience conducting **safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks**.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage workers at all levels.
- Proficiency in **report writing, audits, and regulatory documentation**.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with teams on-site.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between sites as needed.
