We are seeking a technically strong, detail-driven CA(SA) specialising in Share Apportionment Computation to join our high-performance environment. This role requires advanced expertise in expatriate taxation, payroll tax compliance, and share apportionment modelling across multiple transactions.

Key Requirements

  • CA(SA) qualification –

  • At least 3–5 years experience in expatriate tax, payroll tax, or a technical tax environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of SARS eFiling, payroll systems, and advanced financial modelling.
  • In-depth understanding of South African tax legislation, with particular focus on cross-border taxation.
  • Exceptional analytical ability, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Advisory & Compliance

  • Interpret and apply SARS source codes correctly and advise on their tax treatment.
  • Prepare accurate breakeven IRP5s and provide guidance on remuneration structuring.
  • Assist clients with PAYE reviews, compliance checks, and payroll-related queries.

Advanced Tax Calculations

  • Perform IRP5 and workday apportionments for inbound and outbound taxpayers.
  • Complete tax equalisation, tax-protected, and gross-up calculations for mobile employees.
  • Analyse residency, source, and apportionment positions across international assignments.

Individual Tax Return Preparation

  • Prepare and submit annual tax returns involving local and foreign income components.
  • Apply and substantiate claims under Section 10(1)(o)(ii) for foreign employment income.
  • Manage SARS engagements, including audits, verifications, and objections where required.

Share Apportionment & Computations

  • Build and perform detailed share apportionment models across multiple transactions.
  • Calculate base cost apportionment, weighted average cost, and capital gains/loss implications.
  • Prepare audit-ready, fully compliant computation files aligned with SARS requirements.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in supporting documentation.
