1. Job Purpose
To develop and manage sales of foundry products and technical solutions by providing expert technical support, understanding customer needs, and identifying opportunities for growth.
2. Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new sales opportunities within the foundry sector (ferrous).
- Manage and grow existing customer accounts through regular visits, relationship building, and solution-driven selling.
- Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
Technical Support
- Understand customer processes, including melting, molding, coremaking, pouring, cooling, and finishing workflows.
- Provide troubleshooting support and liaise with internal technical teams to address customer challenges.
- Conduct trials, product testing, and process audits at customer sites.
Customer Relationship Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring high levels of service and satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate CRM records including visit reports, forecasts, and opportunity tracking.
- Gather customer feedback to guide product improvements and development.
Market Intelligence
- Participate in industry events, seminars, trade shows, and technical workshops.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with R&D, technical services, operations, and product management teams to deliver tailored solutions.
- Support marketing initiatives such as content development and product launches.
3. Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Additional certifications in foundry technology or casting processes (preferred).
Professional Experience
- 3–5+ years of technical sales experience in the foundry sector or heavy manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience with foundry equipment, process chemicals, alloys, refractory systems, or casting technologies.
- Proven track record in managing customer accounts and achieving sales targets.
4. Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of ferrous and/or non-ferrous casting processes.
- Knowledge of molding sands, binders, coatings, metallurgy, or equipment used in melting, coremaking, molding, and finishing.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, metallurgical reports, and process specifications.
Commercial Skills
- Excellent negotiation, pricing, and contract management abilities.
- Strong presentation and proposal-building skills.
- Ability to identify customer needs and translate them into solution-oriented offerings.
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Problem-solving mindset and a customer-first approach.
5. Other Requirements
- Willingness to travel extensively within assigned territory.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work in foundry environments (heat, dust, heavy industrial settings).
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office suite.
