Description

Key Responsibilities

Build, manage, and scale cloud infrastructure on Azure and/or AWS.

Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub or GitLab.

Deploy, monitor, and maintain applications leveraging Java, Spring Boot, Docker, and Terraform (with experience in Ansible or Bicep advantageous).

Apply best practices in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) including monitoring, incident response, and post-mortem analysis.

Ensure security, scalability, and efficiency of infrastructure.

Collaborate closely with software engineers, QA, and operations teams to ensure high-quality delivery.

Maintain and optimise Linux-based systems with strong administration practices.

Apply a strong understanding of network architecture in designing and securing systems.

Qualifications

Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent proven practical experience).

Relevant certifications essential.

Required Experience

Proven experience as either:

A Software Engineer who has progressed into DevOps/Platform Engineering, or

A Systems Administrator (Operations) who has evolved into DevOps/SRE.

Strong cloud experience in Azure and/or AWS.

Solid experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform essential; Ansible or Bicep beneficial).

Proficiency in Docker and container orchestration.

Strong knowledge of Linux system administration.

Good understanding of networking principles and architecture.

Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub/GitLab).

Strong programming/scripting skills, preferably in Java (with Spring Boot exposure).

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Passion for automation, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Ability to balance software engineering practices with infrastructure and operational focus.
