2.1 Job Description:

Title : Materials Planner/Buyer.

Department : Administration

Availability : Immediate

Location : Gauteng West Rand

Conditions : Full time

Job Summary :

The Material Planner/Buyer is accountable for the support of supply plans, which involves the

translation of demand into the creation of orders to support production. This includes the

management of raw & pack, work-in-process, excess, and obsolete inventory. This is a

permanent position.

Duties : Responsible for,

• Price proposals and pricing

• Search daily, identify and respond to e-tenders

• Analyse and negotiate contracts on behalf of the organisation

• Attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences to learn about new industry trends and

make contacts with suppliers and customers

• Meet with staff and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and

determine corrective action

• Managing SLA's (Service Level Agreements) and Master Agreements between the

suppliers, customers and the organisation

• Manage supplier and customer contracts

• Maintain and review records of items bought, costs, deliveries, product performance, and

inventories

• Evaluate suppliers based on customer preference, price, quality, and lead time

• Audit suppliers

• Compile and maintain approved supplier list

• Prepare and send RFQs, purchase orders and invoices to suppliers including filing thereof

• Compile relevant reports, update outstanding orders, spread sheets, and immediately

communicate new purchase orders to all stakeholders

• Liaise with the Stores on deliveries i.e. to compare delivery notes and quantity delivered

• Adhere to the purchasing policy and procedure

• Budgeting and costing

• Communicate regularly with customers for new work, outstanding purchase orders and

conduct after sales service

• Working with various functional teams additional to normal duties

Working conditions:

• Full time.

• Working additional hours.

• Weekend.

• Work close with top management, present to board members, Liaise with customers.

• Climate controlled office environment and outdoors

• Must be willing to work in areas with high levels of noise such as plants or engineering

departments.

Material Used :

Office furniture, computer, laptops, printer, projector, white board, duster, pen, note book, car, safety

shoes, and board room

2.2 Job specification

Qualification :

• BBA Degree or Diploma or Degree in Logistics or related

• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and Apple iOS

• Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements

Experience :

3 - 5 years of experience in procurement.

Training and skills :

• Must have good problem solving skills.

2.3 Job Evaluation

Salary range : R168,000.00 to R200,000.00 p/a

Incentives : 10% of salary on outstanding company performance.
