JOB DESCRIPTION: CONTROL ROOM OPERATOR

Purpose of the Role

The Control Room Operator is responsible for the continuous monitoring, coordination, and communication within the control room to ensure the effective deployment of guarding staff, incident response, and operational compliance. The role forms a critical link between guards on the ground, management, clients, and emergency services.

2. Minimum RequirementsQualifications & Certifications

  • PSIRA registered with Grade B or A (mandatory).
  • Matric / Grade 12.
  • CCTV/Control Room training certificate (advantageous).

Experience

  • Previous control room experience (minimum 1–2 years).
  • Exposure and experience in a Guarding Environment is essential.
  • Experience with incident reporting, dispatching, and guard deployment.

Technical Skills

  • Computer literate with fast and accurate typing skills.
  • Proficient in control room systems, radios, CCTV platforms, and reporting tools.
  • Ability to multitask in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.

  • High levels of discipline, professionalism, and integrity.
  • Exceptional situational awareness and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work shifts, weekends, nights, and public holidays.
  • Able to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.
