Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Senior Data Engineer located in the Johannesburg Metropolitan Area, with flexibility for partial remote work. The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines, overseeing data transformation processes, and developing robust data warehouses. Additionally, the role involves performing data modeling, optimizing data structures, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and actionable data-driven insights.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Data Engineering, Extract Transform Load (ETL), and building efficient data pipelines
  • Strong expertise in Data Modeling and creating scalable data architectures
  • Hands-on experience in Data Warehousing and management of large datasets
  • In-depth knowledge of Data Analytics and developing actionable insights
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms and modern data tools is a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, or Java
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills
