RETAIL OPERATIONS REGIONAL MANAGER

Boxer Superstores is a rapidly growing Supermarket chain operating in all provinces throughout South Africa. Owing to our growth, we are looking for Retail Operations Regional Managers across different provinces.

Scope of the job
: Responsible for a region within the division: ensuring sales, profit, operating procedures and store standard expectations are met

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales management Identify sales opportunity – internal and external
  • Check department /category sales performance
  • Store/Merchandise management Evaluate success of promotions
  • Overall responsibility for achievement of regions budget
  • Finance and Admin - monitor budget and accuracy and control of expenses
  • People management- training, coaching and mentoring staff
  • Succession planning for management & key staff
  • Recruitment - Authorising additional staff if required
  • Discipline – chairing and attending enquiries
  • Meetings with senior store staff & shop stewards
  • OHS – monitor compliance
  • Monitor house-keeping & food hygiene
  • Customer service – resolve Customer queries efficiently
  • Shrinkage management- Shrinkage committee & Security checks in place
  • Replenishment system -Check calling cycles
  • Check correct ordering procedures
  • Out of stocks address problem suppliers with relevant buyer
  • Stockholding Ensure stock holding is in line with company target

Education and skills

Non-negotiables

  • Matric essential- Relevant Diploma or Degree will be advantageous
  • At least 5 years food retail experience
  • Must have at least 5 years management experience
  • Must have vast knowledge and understanding of HR, IR and Labour policies
  • Sound understanding of Boxers brand, values, vision and culture
  • Must have full knowledge of relevant systems , processes and products (eg, Bomm)
  • High level understanding of the organizational structures and business flows
  • Full understanding of the services department range, product knowledge and product planning and schedules.
  • Understand and able to work with Excel , word and power point- must be able to prepare reports and presentations
  • Must have a valid drives license and be able to travel extensively
