Job Advertisement: Health and Safety Representative (Cape Town)

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Health and Safety Representative to join our construction team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all health and safety regulations are adhered to on site and that a safe working environment is maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct regular site inspections and identify potential hazards.

Participate in health and safety committee meetings.

Report unsafe acts, conditions, or incidents immediately.

Assist with incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.

Promote a strong safety culture among all workers.

Ensure all workers comply with site safety rules, PPE requirements, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Assist with toolbox talks, inductions, and safety training sessions.

Maintain up-to-date safety records, checklists, and reports.

Requirements:

Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.

Health and Safety Representative training certificate.

Sound knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (85 of 1993) and its Construction Regulations.

Minimum 1–2 years' experience in construction or related field.

Strong communication and leadership skills.

Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
