About the Role

We are looking for a skilled
Senior System Engineer
to join our Mainframe Support team. You will be responsible for installing, modifying, and supporting mainframe IT infrastructure, working closely with customers to resolve technical issues and optimize performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support mainframe operating systems and associated utilities & management software
  • Capacity management and performance optimization
  • Research and implement best practices
  • Change management and documentation
  • Hardware/software installation and systems testing
  • Expertise in
    CICS TS
    and
    IBM MQ

Core Skills & Knowledge

  • Extensive expertise in IBM Mainframe: MVS, JCL, JES2
  • Experience with scheduling packages (e.g., CA7), CA control packages
  • Knowledge of Endevor and Xpeditor (advantageous)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant Degree (NQF 7) in IT or related field OR Grade 12 with relevant IT certification
  • Minimum 5 years
    experience in mainframe environments
  • Experience managing CICS and MQ
  • IBM Certifications preferred
