Job Advert Summary

We are seeking a skilled Control & Instrumentation Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, integration, and commissioning of control systems for commercial and industrial PV, BESS, and micro-grid projects.

This role involves both technical execution and mentorship - ensuring high-quality engineering delivery while supporting the development of a Junior R&D Engineer. You will work closely with project engineers to understand project-specific requirements and ensure that control systems are designed, implemented, and configured to meet operational and regulatory standards.

Minimum Requirements

Qualification:

  • B.Eng. Electric and Electronic, B.Eng. Electronic, or B.Sc. Eng
  • Instrumentation / PLC background

Experience:

  • 2-3 years experience in any of the following fields:
  • C&I engineering
  • Automation engineering
  • SCADA engineering

Required skills and competencies:

  • In depth Knowledge and of Siemens programming with Siemens S7 PLCs using Siemens TIA portal.
    • Must be proficient in Siemens SCL text based programming language.
  • Understanding in industrial communication protocol such as Modbus/ Modbus TCP/IP
  • Network design and implementation
  • Understanding of 3-phase power systems
  • Prior experience implementing P & PI controllers

Additional beneficial skills and competencies:

  • Experience using RESTful API
  • Experience in Solar PV systems
  • Experience in Industrial Internet for example MQTT
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute engineering aspects of assigned projects - 60%
  • Design, program, and implement PLC systems across all projects.
  • Develop and integrate control systems for PV, BESS, and micro-grid plants.
  • Conduct system assessments and prepare engineering studies and design documentation for new and existing systems.
  • Configure control systems in line with designed plant operations and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams to align control system design with project objectives and technical constraints.
  • Train and mentor a Junior R&D Engineer, providing technical guidance and knowledge transfer.
  • Participate in commissioning activities and troubleshoot control and instrumentation issues.
