Intern: Business Operations

Job description:

As a Business Operations Intern, you will support various aspects of our business, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the fleet software industry. Your responsibilities will include researching new business opportunities, identifying potential clients, and assisting in lead generation and conversion (business development); supporting the successful on-boarding and implementation of our fleet management software for new clients (implementation); and providing exceptional customer service and technical support to ensure seamless software usage (support).

Responsibilities:

• Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential clients and industry trends
• Develop and maintain prospect lists, databases, and CRM systems
• Assist in compiling and sending targeted sales emails, phone calls, and social media outreach
• Engage with potential clients to understand their pain points and showcase our software solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, support) to align business development strategies
• Analyse industry reports, competitor activity, and market news to inform business development initiatives
• Meet set targets for outreach, follow-ups, and lead generation
• Provide feedback and insights to improve business development processes
• Assist Implementation Managers in planning, coordinating, and executing software implementation projects
• Configure and test software settings for new clients
• Develop and maintain documentation for implementation processes and client setups
• Conduct data imports, integrations, and migrations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, support) to ensure seamless client on-boarding
• Provide training and support to clients on software usage and best practices
• Identify and troubleshoot implementation issues, escalating to senior team members as needed
• Analyse client feedback and suggest process improvements
• Meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality results
• Respond to client inquiries promptly via phone, email, and live chat
• Troubleshoot software issues, resolve or escalate to senior support team
• Document and track client issues using CRM and ticketing systems
• Develop and maintain FAQs, and user guides
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, implementation, sales) to resolve client concerns
• Conduct training sessions for clients on software usage and best practices
• Analyse client feedback and suggest process improvements
• Meet or exceed customer satisfaction and response time targets

Qualifications:

• BSc in Computer Science / Information Technology / Data Science / Operations Research, BCom in Information Systems / Logistics and Supply Chain Management / Business Management / Transportation Management, BEng in Industrial Engineering or Diploma in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, Business Information Systems (BIS), Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Software Development, Data Analytics, Digital Marketing, Project Management, Business administration
• Strong interest in sales, marketing, and business development
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and CRM software will be advantageous
• Project management skills will be advantageous
• Familiarity with software implementation, data analysis, and project management principles will be advantageous
• Proficient in database management tools will be advantageous
• Familiarity with customer support principles, CRM software, and help desk systems will be advantageous
• Willingness to learn
