Purpose of the Role

The Junior Innovation Specialist will support the execution of Nutun's innovation agenda by contributing to the research, design, and testing of new digital solutions across the business. The role strengthens our Innovation Lab capability by enabling the rapid ideation, prototyping, and deployment of technology-driven improvements that enhance operational efficiency and client experience.

This position ensures that innovative ideas are translated into tangible business outcomes through structured experimentation and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support research and scouting of emerging technologies (AI, automation, CX, analytics).
  • Participate in ideation workshops and assist in converting ideas into prototypes or pilots.
  • Collaborate with senior innovation leads on proof-of-concept builds using low-code or AI tools.
  • Gather and document user feedback, analyse adoption metrics, and suggest enhancements.
  • Maintain project documentation, demo material, and innovation dashboards.
  • Contribute to Innovation Lab showcases, event etc.
  • Ensure alignment with Nutun's innovation and digital transformation strategy.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent diploma (NQF 6+) in:
  • Information Technology / Computer Science
  • Business Information Systems
  • Innovation & Design Thinking

Preferred / Advantageous:

  • Certifications in:
  • Design Thinking / Innovation Management
  • AI Fundamentals or Data Analytics
  • Low-code / No-code Development (PowerApps, Zapier, etc.)
  • Agile / Scrum Fundamentals

Desirable Exposure:

  • Experience in hackathons, innovation projects, or digital prototypes.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Excel, or workflow automation tools.
  • Strong interest in AI, process automation, or customer experience innovation.
