Account Executive
to join our client's team.
The Role:
We're seeking an experienced Account Executive to join our growing team in Johannesburg, South Africa. This is a client-facing sales role focused on identifying, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities with mid-market to enterprise B2B organizations seeking HubSpot CRM solutions and implementation services.
As an Account Executive, you'll leverage deep knowledge of HubSpot's capabilities and our service offerings to help clients understand how we can transform their CRM operations, drive operational efficiency, and accelerate growth. You'll be selling complex, high-value solutions to decision-makers and will play a critical role in building our presence in the South African and broader African market.
Key Responsibilities:
- New Business Development: Proactively identify and qualify enterprise B2B prospects across target markets and verticals. Research prospects, build compelling business cases, and create tailored outreach strategies aligned with their specific industry challenges and CRM maturity.
- Sales Qualification & Needs Analysis: Conduct discovery calls with prospective clients to understand their business objectives, current CRM challenges, implementation timelines, and budget parameters. Translate complex business needs into HubSpot-aligned solutions and determine fit early in the sales cycle.
- Solution Presentation & Demonstration: Present the clients' service offerings and demonstrate HubSpot's capabilities in ways that directly address client pain points. Work with presales and technical teams to develop custom proposals and technical overviews tailored to enterprise requirements.
- Relationship Building & Account Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with C-level executives, operations leaders, and decision-makers. Navigate complex organisational structures and multiple stakeholders to advance deals through the sales pipeline.
- Deal Closure: Negotiate contract terms, pricing structures, and service timelines with clients. Drive deals to close while ensuring alignment between client expectations and our service delivery capabilities.
- Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate forecasting, document all client interactions in CRM systems, and consistently manage a healthy pipeline to meet or exceed monthly and quarterly targets.
- Collaboration with Delivery Teams: Partner closely with implementation teams, solution architects, and enablement specialists to ensure smooth client handoffs and successful project kickoffs.
- Market Insight & Feedback: Provide regular feedback to leadership on market trends, competitive positioning, client objections, and emerging opportunities within the South African and broader regional market.
Required Qualifications
- HubSpot Platform Knowledge: Demonstrated experience with HubSpot (Sales Hub, Service Hub, or Marketing Hub). You should be able to speak credibly about HubSpot's capabilities, limitations, and use cases. This could include hands-on HubSpot administration or previous experience selling HubSpot services/implementations.
- Sales Experience: 3+ years of proven B2B enterprise sales experience, ideally selling complex software solutions, professional services, or SaaS implementations. Track record of consistently meeting or exceeding quota.
- Communication & Presentation Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Business Translation Skills: Ability to listen actively, ask insightful questions, and translate vague business challenges into specific, concrete CRM and operational requirements. You should understand how CRM implementations drive measurable business outcomes.
- Sales Acumen: Strong ability to qualify opportunities, manage objections, negotiate effectively, and advance deals through a structured sales process. You understand sales cycles, pipeline management, and forecasting.
- Confidence & Resilience: Comfort with self-directed prospecting, rejection, and the ability to maintain momentum in a fast-paced sales environment. You're confident engaging with C-suite executives and aren't intimidated by complex enterprise sales.
- CRM & Technology Proficiency: Working knowledge of CRM platforms, sales methodologies (MEDDIC, Challenger, etc.), and comfortable with technology-enabled sales tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience selling HubSpot implementations or professional services related to CRM.
- Background in a high-growth technology or software services company.
- Knowledge of enterprise CRM challenges in regulated industries (healthcare, financial services, etc.).
- Experience selling to multiple verticals (Industrial, A/E/C, Professional Services, etc.).
- Familiarity with account management or client success principles.
- Master's degree or equivalent professional development in business or sales.
