We are on the lookout for a Junior Accountant to join our clients team. This role is perfect if you are looking to grow and develop your skill set. The Junior Accountant will support the finance department in ensuring accurate financial
record-keeping and efficient day-to-day accounting operations.

Capturing and processing supplier invoices, payments, receipts, and journal entries
Performing bank, creditor, and debtor reconciliations on a regular basis
Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports for basic entities
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date general ledger and supporting schedules
Assisting with budget preparation and monitoring of actual vs budget variances
VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns and submissions
Assisting with audit preparations, including compiling supporting documentation and responding to auditor queries
Reconciling petty cash and staff expense claims
Issuing and sending out invoices to relevant entities and following up on outstanding payments
Monitoring accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely collections and payments
Maintaining fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
Ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Contributing to process improvements and maintaining proper filing and document control
Performing ad-hoc financial and administrative tasks as required by management

Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 6 months' relevant accounting or finance experience
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Sage)
Good understanding of basic accounting principles and reconciliations
Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
Professional communication skills and a proactive attitude
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
 
Qualification:
BCom Degree in finance
