You'll own the Anaplan environment that drives budgeting, forecasting, workforce planning, and operational decision-making across our entire African footprint—working directly with finance leadership, commercial teams, and operations executives who are making decisions that affect millions of lives.

What This Role Actually Means

You'll be the technical architect behind M-KOPA's financial planning transformation. That means:

  • Designing, building, and owning robust Anaplan models that support everything from annual budgeting and long-range planning to rolling forecasts and scenario modeling across multiple business units and geographies. You'll ensure these models scale, perform, and align with Anaplan best practices—because when you're operating at our velocity, architecture matters.

  • Owning the integrations between Anaplan and our ERP, CRM, and data lake, ensuring seamless data flow and real-time insights. You'll establish model governance, documentation standards, version control protocols, and security controls that make the platform sustainable as we grow. You'll identify every opportunity for automation, optimization, and continuous improvement—because you understand that great models evolve.

  • Partnering directly with Finance, Commercial, and Operations teams to understand business needs and translate them into scalable solutions. You'll lead user training and onboarding, driving platform adoption and ensuring teams become empowered and self-sufficient. You'll work with internal stakeholders and external consultants across time zones and cultures, aligning on design and implementation best practices. You'll explore opportunities to integrate AI and advanced analytics into the roadmap, future-proofing the platform as the business evolves.

This is a core role in M-KOPA's broader finance digital transformation journey. You won't be isolated in a technical silo—you'll be working alongside senior finance leadership who understand that modern planning infrastructure is strategic, not administrative. Your work will directly enable faster decision-making, better resource allocation, and smarter growth strategies in one of the world's most dynamic emerging markets.

What We Need You to Bring:
  • Certified Anaplan Model Builder (Level 2 or higher)—and if you're a Master Anaplanner, even better.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and scaling complex Anaplan models, ideally in fast-growing fintechs, telecoms, or global multi-country environments where complexity is the baseline.

  • Strong financial planning knowledge—P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, driver-based forecasting—because you can't model what you don't understand.

  • Advanced Excel and data modeling capabilities and proven experience integrating Anaplan with ERP and data systems through APIs, ETL tools, or middleware.

  • Experience in an Anaplan-focused consulting role serving companies like ours, or as the internal builder implementing Anaplan in a high-growth organization. You've managed or worked alongside external implementation partners. You've collaborated across cultures and time zones.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical complexity into business value.

If you've worked with Microsoft Dynamics or BI tools like Power BI or Tableau, that's valuable context.
