About the Role

We're seeking an experienced IT Automation Engineer to lead automation initiatives across our MSP environment. This office-based role in Umhlanga supports our UK operations, focusing on RMM automation, IT scripting, and workflow optimization. You'll design, develop, and manage automations that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and service delivery across multiple systems and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts, workflows, and integrations to streamline MSP operations.
  • Build and manage automations using Rewst, n8n, or similar orchestration platforms.
  • Develop RMM automation for systems such as Kaseya, Datto RMM, and Autotask.
  • Automate key processes including ticketing, provisioning, patching, and monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize automation workflows with strong error handling and logging.
  • Collaborate with service desk, network, and infrastructure teams to identify automation opportunities.
  • Document standards, workflows, and best practices to ensure scalability and consistency.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in automation engineering, RMM automation, or DevOps within an MSP or IT services environment.
  • Strong IT scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Hands-on experience with Rewst, n8n, Zapier, or similar workflow tools.
  • Knowledge of Kaseya, Datto RMM, Autotask, and other PSA/RMM or ITSM systems.
  • Understanding of Microsoft 365, Azure, and IT infrastructure fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with security and backup products such as Mimecast, Avanan, Axcient, Acronis, ThreatDefence, Huntress, Augmentt, and
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
  • Kaseya certification is a strong advantage.
