Introduction

Komatsu has an opportunity for a technically minded individual with a passion for heavy earthmoving equipment to assist the artisan with general functions as an Assistant Artisan with at least 1 year experience in Earthmoving Equipment to join our team at Witbank.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Machine/component assembly and disassembly.
  • Component/ machine cleaning.
  • Basic maintenance and housekeeping.
  • Drives Komatsu service vehicle.
  • Komatsu machine operation.
  • Required to work overtime and standby from time to time and must be prepared to travel when needed.
  • Assist the artisan in all aspects.
  • Must be safety orientated as machine movement and component movements are present.
  • Must have some knowledge on basic tools and the purpose of tools used.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • A team player, ability to work well within a team environment.
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • Grade 12 with technical subjects, or Technical N3
  • Other certifications are an advantage (forklift, crane, welding) but not required.
  • 1-year general workshop, technical environment experience/experience working on earthing moving machines.
  • Basic knowledge of workshop tools and machine repairs.
  • Valid driver's license (code 8) an advantage.
  • Have a passion for Heavy Earthmoving Machinery.
  • SHE – basic knowledge of the Health and Safety Act.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English, good communication and interpersonal skills.
