Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our finance team in Montague Gardens. The ideal candidate will be a mature professional with strong corporate debtors and creditors experience, holding a relevant qualification, and available to start immediately. This role requires accuracy, independence, and the ability to oversee the full accounting function while supporting the Financial Manager.

Key Requirements:

- 5+ years' proven experience in a similar accounting role

- Advanced MS Excel proficiency with strong analytical skills

- Computer literate with MS Office Suite

- Minimum 3 years' hands-on Pastel Accounting experience

- Solid debtors and creditors management background

- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines

- Must maintain good overall health and wellbeing to meet the demands of a busy finance role

Main Purpose of the Role:

To oversee the accounting function by ensuring accurate capturing, reporting, and reconciliation

of financial records, managing customer reporting, and overseeing invoicing and cashflow processes.

Responsibilities:

- Manage and reconcile cashbooks, and general entries

- Prepare and analyse Trial Balance and Balance Sheet reconciliations

- Oversee customer and supplier accounts (age analysis, reconciliations, and payment instructions)

- Process supplier invoices, intercompany transactions, and payments

- Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register

- Prepare cashflow budgets and manage banking transactions

- Support with audit preparation and compliance reporting

- Compile and distribute customised corporate reports

Desired Qualifications:

- Matric (Compulsory)

- Diploma or Degree in Financial Management / Bookkeeping / Accounting

Position Details:

Level: Mid-level, Full-time

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08h00 – 17h00 (On-site only) – Subject to change, per client confirmation.

Location: Montague Gardens, Milnerton

Remuneration:

starting at R Negotiable depending on experience and qualifications)
