Role Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and principled Water Compliance Officer to support our regulatory and operational excellence. This role is pivotal in ensuring our water solutions meet legal, environmental, and sustainability standards across diverse sectors.

Key Responsibilities

· Undertake Water Use Licence Applications and Municipal Permit Processes.

· Monitor and ensure compliance with Water Use Licence conditions.

· Conduct water quantity analysis to ensure sustainable yields.

· Investigate water quality exceedances and recommend corrective actions.

· Prepare and submit reports to the Department of Water and Sanitation and clients.

· Maintain and update the incident and compliance register and tracker.

· Assist with aquifer management and water level monitoring.

· Ensure compliance monitoring and reporting are aligned with the National Water Act and Water Services Act.

· Draft and implement Water Safety Plans.

· Design and implement Water Conservation and Demand Management Plans.

· Track regulatory changes and assess their impact on operations and policies.

· Support project planning, execution, and administration across multidisciplinary teams.

· Facilitate stakeholder engagement to ensure inclusive and transparent applications.

Qualification Requirements

Education:


• BSc in Environmental Science/Management, Water Science, Hydrology/Hydrogeology, Water Resources Management, or a related field. Honours, short courses in water and compliance, and SACNASP registration would be advantageous.

Experience:


• –4 years of hands-on experience with water use licensing and regulatory compliance.

Skills:


• Strong grasp of South African water legislation (e.g., National Water Act, Water Services Act).


• Excellent report writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.


• Proven ability in stakeholder engagement and interpersonal communication.


• High attention to detail and excellent time management.
