Production Supervisor

  • Lead a team from various departments
  • Establish daily, weekly, and monthly objectives and communicate them to employees
  • Manage the workflow by assigning responsibilities, guiding and coaching employees, and monitoring their productivity/ performance.
  • Support Quality to ensure that the product meets the customers' expectations
  • Coordinate production scheduling on shift to meet customer demands, manage overtime, minimize inventory, and to reduce costs
  • Identify the cause of the deviation and implement a course of action to resolve the problem
  • Set and measure performance standards of quality, outputs, time, cost, waste, safety, etc.
  • Determine and discuss all departmental targets with the production manager
  • Build and maintain productive employee relationships
  • Identify critical projects to improve operational performance
  • Full understanding of production costs to include waste, downtime, scrap and re-work
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to establish a logical, practical solution
  • Co-ordinate all production activities to the best of his/her ability and in the interest of the business
  • Make decisions concerning operational requirements.
  • Ensure that all HACCP and GMP principles are enforced and maintained.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Matric/ Supervisory qualification.
  • Drivers license
  • Diploma in production management or relevant.
  • 1 years' experience as a supervisor within a fast-paced Manufacturing operation, preferably with a food manufacturing background.
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel).
