The successful candidate will report directly to the Senior Manager: Policy Administration.

Key Purpose:

The Policy Administration Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of policies,
ensuring efficient processing, compliance with regulations, and exceptional customer service. This role
involves managing a team, optimizing policy administration workflows, and collaborating with various
departments to achieve operational excellence.

DUTIES/KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Team Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of policy supervisors who manage teams within the department
  • Assign tasks, set performance goals, and conduct regular performance evaluations
  • Provide training and professional development opportunities
Policy Administration:
  • Oversee the processing of new applications, policy renewals, and cancellations
  • Ensure accurate and timely issuance of policies, and cancellations
  • Monitor and manage policy documentation, ensuring all records are up-to-date and compliant with company standards and regulatory requirements
Workflow Optimization:
  • Analyse and streamline policy administration processes to enhance efficiency and reduce errors
  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Utilize technology to automate and improve administrative tasks
Customer Service:
  • Address and resolve complex policy-related inquiries and issues from clients and agents
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through efficient and courteous service
  • Collaborate with customer service teams to develop strategies for improving client experience
Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure adherence to industry regulations, company policies, and compliance standards
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with policy administration
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of policy administration processes
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with, claims, finance, and IT departments to ensure seamless policy administration
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare and present reports on policy administration performance and metrics to senior management
Project Management:
  • Lead and participate in projects related to policy administration system upgrades, process improvements, and regulatory changes
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely and successful project delivery
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Grade 12
  • NQF5 qualification
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in a managerial or team leader role
  • Proficient in policy administration systems and Microsoft Office Suite
