Brief description

The main purpose of this position is to manage the vetting fieldwork function and ensure that it is effective, efficient and compliant with all the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) Group requirements.

Detailed description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

  • Coordinate and prioritise vetting fieldwork files and outcomes within the SARB Group.
  • Ensure that completed vetting fieldwork files comply with policies, procedures, applicable legislation and directives to ensure consistency and standardisation across the function.
  • Ensure that the vetting analysts complete the required number of files as per agreed performance standards.
  • Ensure that the correct data regarding vetting fieldwork is recorded, maintained and available when required.
  • Ensure that completed vetting files and relevant reports are submitted to the State Security Agency timeously.
  • Identify and prioritise vetting investigation of persons occupying high-security risk positions within the SARB group.
  • Conduct quality control of all vetting fieldwork files and ensure that the files are of consistent and reliable quality to mitigate risk.
  • Provide support in the development and implementation of vetting policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and standards.
  • Attend to, and resolve challenges picked up on vetting fieldwork files and report unresolved issues to the Unit Head, where applicable.
  • Initiate vetting panels where applicable.
  • Manage the performance and development of team members.
  • Continually keep abreast with vetting trends and any other relevant changes.
  • Manage the provision of management information for the purposes of decision making.
  • Ensure the secure management of information, aligned with the SARB policies and legislation.
